Happy Halloween everyone! Matt is working tonight, and I have school/work tomorrow, so it's a fairly low-key Halloween. I'm spending the night eating candy and watching my two favorite horror films: Nosferatu and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Both are available to watch on You Tube!

Nosferatu (1922)

The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)

On Saturday evening I went to sushi and carved pumpkins with my two close friends! I had originally wanted to do a Martha Stewart owl pattern that I found on her website, but decided it would be too much work! Instead I decided to carve a class Jack o' Lantern!

And this is Daisy's AMAZING Angry Birds pumpkin!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween!

New item in our Etsy store!

We just listed a pair of classic blue Keds in size women's 8.5! They are in great condition, and are available now in our Etsy store!

I've been using my free trial of RadLab's Totally Rad Photoshop Actions!

Yesterday both Matt and I had ridiculously long days, so it was nice to have the day off today. We spent the day thrifting and I picked up the materials for my terrariums. We're also working on our costumes today, hopefully I'll be able to finish my shark costume before Friday!

Weekly Update!

This Friday Matt and I went antique shopping! It was my first time, as I had always associated antiques with the pre-1950s/shabby chic era. When I lived in the Rose Garden area I often passed by the plethora of antique stores on West San Carlos, but yesterday was my first time stopping in.

In one of the stores I found a Margaret Keane painting ("Waiting for Grandmother 1962"), which is in the lower left hand corner. I'll have to re-frame it, but what a great find!

I also found these adorable deer salt and pepper shakers in the same store. The deer figurine on the left was one of our MANY finds at the Campbell City-Wide Garage Sale.

Lastly, I found these 1930s-1940s era 127 film negatives, which will work great for my thesis show in April. The best part is they were in a box full of pictures, negatives, memorabilia with Matt's last name on them!

That's all for now! This week I'll be working on my terrariums, learning how to transfer photographs onto glass, as well as a post on our favorite albums this summer!

Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival

On Saturday my friends and I went to the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival. I had a great time looking at the crafts and EATING (duh!!!). We had hot dogs, pumpkin cheesecake, and locally brewed beer. Yum! The fair inspired me to start crafting again. I'd like to get a sewing machine for the holidays and also work on my crocheting.

We also ended up finding this "pop up" vintage store at the festival. Matt got a fantastic 60s style alarm clock and I got TWO new big eye paintings!

Anyways, everyone had a great time, and we're all looking forward to carving pumpkins together in a few weeks.
